Four More Arrests in Drug Conspiracy Case

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office announces four additional arrests in the drug conspiracy case titled “Operation Smurf” that began Monday morning. According to the Narcotics Division of the Sheriff’s Office, the four individuals turned themselves in to deputies. That brings to 26 the total number of individuals arrested on charges of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.  Smurfing means individuals who get together, go out, and shop around from store to store to purchase Pseudoephedrine for the purposes of manufacturing methamphetamine. Five individuals are still at large and are still being sought by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.
