Frontier Encampment this Saturday in Walhalla

Travel back in time on Saturday by visiting the frontier encampment at the Oconee Station State Historic Site near Walhalla. Re-enactors will show what it was like after the American Revolution, explains Oconee Station Park Ranger Scott Alexander. “Oconee Station was established back in 1792 as a frontier fort and it was garrisoned by the South Carolina State Militia during the 1790s. We are going to have a number of re-enactors here on site to give folks an idea of what it could have been like for some of the troops here. Some of the equipment that they carried and what it was like in general.” This free event takes place on Saturday from 10am to 3pm at Oconee Station State Historic Site near Walhalla.
