Funding approved for New Assistant Position in Seneca

The Seneca City Council at a special called meeting Tuesday night approved funding for a new assistant to the City Administrator.  Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander gives details about the approval of Councilman E. Riley’s recommendation to redirect funds from the Light and Water Department towards the new assistant city administrator position.  “E’s recommendation was to allow Greg Dietterick to search for someone to work with him on the day-to-day operations of the City.  There was a position not filled last year when Assistant Light and Water Director Dewitt Martin retired and the funding was still there in the budget for that position.  So, we are able to use funding that already exists to create this position.”  Seneca City Administrator Greg Dietterick is on business out of town this week and once he returns, Mayor Alexander says the search for his new assistant will begin.  The Mayor added that the City usually publicizes the position to city staff before expanding the search outside the city.
