Georgia Man Charged with Grand Larceny by Seneca Police

Early Monday morning, around 2:20am, Seneca Police conducted a traffic stop of a pick up truck on West North 1st Street at Fairplay Street. During the stop, police said they discovered an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. While doing an inventory of the vehicle officers noticed a blanket covering up items in the bed of the truck. Underneath the blanket officer’s recovered four tires and rims that had been stolen from Lake Keowee Ford on May 15.

The four tires were taken, police said, off a 2020 Ford F-150, and the stolen property was valued at $9,600. David Shane Spears, age 43 of Royston, GA, was taken into custody and charged with having an open container, as well as grand larceny.

He remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center with a bond set at more than $10,000.
