Greenville Co. Murder Suspect arrested by Seneca Police

Acting on a tip, officers of the Seneca Police Department located the vehicle being sought in connection with a murder that occurred at the Boulder Creek Apartments on Monday evening in Greenville. The black Acura was located around 2am Tuesday morning at Greenfield Apartments. The vehicle had what appeared to be bullet holes in it. The vehicle was seized and turned over to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 3am. Upon further investigation, information was obtained that suggested that the murder suspect, Tarece Lamark Cooks of Greenville, was possibly in an apartment in the nearby Seneca Gardens. A Seneca Police Department Undercover Surveillance Team was put in place around the apartment. At 10:30am, Cooks came out of the apartment and attempted to leave in another vehicle. Officers quickly surrounded the vehicle and were able to arrest Cooks without incident. He was armed with a loaded handgun at the time of arrest. Cooks was later turned over to deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
