Guilty Plea Entered to Charge of Livestock Theft

In Oconee Superior Court on Friday, Gary Chase Coble, 32, of Mountain Rest, pleaded guilty to stealing a horse last August and hiding it in a mobile home. He was sentenced to five years in prison, according to Tenth Judicial Circuit Solicitor Jason Alderman.

According to records from the Oconee County Detention Center, Coble has been in jail since his arrest by deputies on August 9th of last year on charges of trespassing, petit larceny, second degree burglary, stealing livestock, malicious injury to property and a family court bench warrant. His custody was transferred to the South Carolina Department of Corrections this morning. He will serve the remainder of his sentence in state prison.
