Hammond Family wants Video released

The family of Zachary Hammond, the Seneca teen shot and killed by police, are pushing for the release of the video that shows the incident in the parking lot of the Hardee’s on Bypass 123. The Hammond family held a news conference Tuesday afternoon in downtown Greenville where they said that 10th Circuit Solicitor Chrissy Adams has refused to release any video or audio citing and ongoing investigation. The Hammonds say SLED told them that their investigation was completed two weeks ago and they no longer have the video. The family wants the state Attorney General to appoint an independent solicitor. Adams says it will likely be weeks before she decides if Seneca Police Lt. Mark Tiller should face charges in the shooting death of the 19-year-old during a drug sting. Tiller says Zachary Hammond drove at him, threatening his life. Hammond’s family says the teen was shot after his car passed Tiller. The Hammonds say Adams should be removed from the case because an officer in her jurisdiction shot their son.
