Hart County (GA) Commissioner and Son Arrested Over the Weekend

Hart County, Georgia District Four Commissioner Ricky Carter and his son, Jake Carter, were arrested Saturday night following an alleged altercation at a Highway 77 residence, according to the Hart County (GA) Sheriff’s Office.

Ricky Carter was arrested and charged with pointing a gun at another person and terroristic threats, while his son was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with other charges pending, deputies said. Investigators accused the father and son of driving to the victim’s home around midnight and assaulting the victim.

According to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office, Ricky was released on bond, however his son remained in custody at the Hart County Detention Center. The identity of the victim has not been released. That individual was treated at a local hospital for serious injuries, Sheriff’s Officials said.
