Heavy Rains fall in Golden Corner

Rain, rain, go away.  Many are signing the popular children’s song after three straight days of rainfall in the Golden Corner of South Carolina.  Recent rains have totaled anywhere from 1 to 5 inches in the Upstate with Oconee County reporting 2.18 inches of rain fell in one 24-hour period this week.  For the month, total rainfall in Oconee County measurers 5 inches.  The recent rain in the Upstate has helped with drought conditions and sinking lake levels.  The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers report 3.9 inches of water has been added to the Hartwell Basin so far this year.
