Heyward powers Braves to win

Since moving to the leadoff spot, Jason Heyward and the Atlanta Braves have been winning games at a record pace.  Heyward’s first career leadoff home run sparked the early offensive eruption that provided Brandon Beachy some comfort and propelled the Braves to Wednesday night’s 6-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies at Turner Field.  This was the Braves 17th win in their past 19 games, which has given them a 14-game lead over the Washington Nationals in the National League East.  The consistent offensive production the Braves have generated over the past few weeks has been greatly influenced by Heyward, who has batted .382 in the 18 games played since moving into the leadoff spot.  The Atlanta Braves are now 74-47 on the season.  Catch all the exciting action of Atlanta Braves baseball here on WSNW.
