Heyward’s catch caps thrilling Braves victory

Jason Heyward made a diving catch in the wet outfield grass at Citi Field last night to help the Atlanta Braves beat the New York Mets 2-1.  Heyward’s diving catch robbed Justin Tuner of what would have been at least a game-tying single.  The game marked just the fifth time in Heyward’s career that he played center field.  Heyward, who has primarily played right field, will handle the center-field duties while B.J. Upton misses at least another week with a strained muscle. Monday was the first game Heyward played since straining his right hamstring on July 11.  This was the Braves’ 30th comeback win of the season.  The Atlanta Braves are now 56-43 on the season.  Catch all the exciting action of Atlanta Braves baseball here on WSNW.
