Hiring underway in SDOC

Hiring is underway in the School District of Oconee County (SDOC), tells Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Earnestine Williams. “We are now in the process of re-hiring our teachers. We will send out contracts to approximately 872 of our certified employees. Most of those contracts are for our elementary teachers; about 480 for elementary and about 181 for middle schools and 198 for high schools. Then we have our additional locations; Adult Ed, the Career Center, and Oconee Academy. So, we will be re-hiring staff and they have until May 10, to get those contracts back to us saying that they would like to return but in the mean time we will go ahead and post anticipated vacancies. So, we encourage people to watch our website for those certified vacancies. We do have middle level math and science, high school math and science, speech, and special ed vacancies that we currently have now. Also, we have the additional support employees that we are in need of as well to help get our students to school we need bus drivers to continue to apply, custodians, and we will also have some instructional aid needs as well.” Williams tells how to find job listings online at www.oconee.k12.sc.us. “Once you get onto the website, you want to click on Departments and scroll down to Humane Resources. You will go to vacancies, which is under a tab on the left, click on that and you will see those. It would either be certified if you are a teacher or administrator looking for positions. If you are looking for other positions you would look under classified. As always if you can’t navigate our website just feel free to call us.” That number for the Human Resources Department of the SDOC is 864-886-4400 extension 6121.
