Honor Parade for Visiting Marines today

The community is encouraged to participate in a welcoming patriotic parade this afternoon, June 22, to honor visiting Marines. Individuals and businesses are asked to line the parade route with signs, flags and expressions of thanks, explains Honoring Their Service co-chairman Tony Alford. “Our theme this year is saying thank you face to face, heart to heart.” The motorcade moves from Easley to downtown Seneca, and on to Lake Keowee, tells Alford. “The motorcade departs the J.B. Red Owens Recreation Complex in Easley on June 22 around 2:15pm, traveling down Highway 123 through Easley before turning onto Highway 93, which will lead the group through Liberty, Norris and Central. The motorcade will then rejoin Highway 123 in Clemson and travel on to Seneca. In Seneca, the route will turn at Miracle Circle onto North First Street, travel through downtown before heading to Lake Keowee via Highway 130.” The parade is anticipated to arrive in downtown Seneca around 3pm. Businesses along the route are encouraged to place a “Thank You” message on any electronic sign they may have.
