Honoring Their Service Returns to Keowee Key Next Month

Nothing says “welcome and thank you” to our visiting veterans and their spouses more than upstate streets lined with smiling faces waving American flags, and hundreds of motorcycles joining in patriotic tribute. And next month, what has become a staple event in Oconee County returns to Keowee Key.

Residents are again inviting combat veterans into their homes to join them for events and recreation from June 20-23. Honoring Their Service‘s signature event is in partnership with Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital for combat veterans from the Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC) “Raiders” and Veterans of all Armed Forces sponsored by Upstate Warrior Solutions.

The veterans will leave Camp Lejeune at “O Dark Thirty” on Monday, June 20, according to their itinerary. An escorted caravan will depart on parade at 1:30pm through Central, Clemson, Seneca and Keowee Key, to arrive at the Duke World of Energy parking lot at approximately 3:00pm.
