CareerBuilder.com has a dozen hot jobs that are growing in 2014. The list was based on occupations that grew 7% or more from 2010 to 2013 and are projected to increase in 2014. These jobs also fall within a higher-wage category of $22 an hour or more. CareerBuilder’s Jennifer Grasz gives details. “There is a high concentration of technology jobs, software developers, web developers, date base administrators and information security analysts.  You see a lot of companies wanting to go to market first with innovation, they want to capitalize on technologies, and they want to harness big data to make smarter business decisions.” Companies want people who can develop products and services as well as sell them, adds Grasz. “Companies not only need people who can generate revenue but also those people who can use data to identify markets with growth opportunities, so you see demand continue to grow for those types of roles.” The jobs cover a wide spectrum of business, adds Grasz. “There is a high concentration of technology jobs but you also see a variety of functional areas on the list.” Grasz explains why companies are hiring more and more training specialists.  “What we are seeing is more of these positions are being created as companies are trying to figure out how to navigate the skills gap, instead of waiting for the perfect hire in a competitive environment, a lot of companies are training candidates who have potential and can grow into the position.” To read the complete report on hot jobs for 2014, visit www.CareerBuilder.com.
