Hot Jobs for 2015

A new study by CareerBuilder.com finds that job openings are out-pacing hirings in some key sectors. CareerBuilder Executive Advisor Jennifer Grasz says that those sectors include some highly skilled positions. “Not surprising, the list is heavily dominated by IT and healthcare roles. If you look at software developers, for example, there are more than 50,000 jobs posted each month for these positions but only around 30,000 people are hired each month.” Grasz says that high demand workers can expect to benefit from high competition. “When you look at very specialized areas where companies are competitive for talent, we are seeing some nice growth in wages.” Some of the hottest jobs require no college degree, but very specific skills, adds Grasz. “The gap for merchandise displayers and window trimmers was surprising, hiring lags job posting by nearly 15,000. I think that is indicative of companies investing more in the look and feel of their brands.” The hottest jobs not requiring a degree were truck drivers, continues Grasz. “Truck drivers topped this list, there are more than 240,000 jobs posted each month for truck drivers and around 131,000 people are hired each month, so there is a significant gap there.” Grasz says that the largest hiring gaps are in the fields of information technology and health care. “Speech language pathologists and industrial engineers also on that list and then you also see significant gaps for marketing executives and sales managers as companies invest more in their brands and really make efforts to increase their revenue and profitability.” To read the complete list of the hottest jobs in 2015, visit www.CareerBuilder.com.
