Hundreds trick-or-treat in Downtown Seneca

Hundreds of trick-or-treaters lined Main Street in front of Norton-Thompson Park in downtown Seneca Wednesday night for Halloween on the Green. Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander said it was a perfect night. “Well, it was a perfect night, large crowd and lots of people took part this year in helping us give all the candy out. There were lots of people doing popcorn and different things. We had volunteers doing the bounce houses. It was just a great night, the weather was perfect, but kids had a good time. We gave away 3,000 hot dogs and I gave out about 1,200 waters from Bountyland Quick Stop, so a big shootout to David Land and his team up there for being a big sponsor of this event too.” Each year on Halloween, the City of Seneca host the free event as a safe alternative for families to the traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating. Staff from each city department volunteered their time to give out candy and wish everyone a Happy Halloween.
