Investigation continues into Pickens Homicide

A homicide is under investigation by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.  It happened on Franklin Finely Road in the Dacusville Community. Pickens County deputies responded to the residence around 7pm Tuesday after receiving reports of a shooting victim. When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered a deceased male with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was identified as 47-year-old Travis Scott Whitman of Easley. The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this shooting as a homicide. If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office at 864-898-5529.
