Investigation of Easley Council Member Requested by Officials

A group of state and county officials in South Carolina have requested an investigation into Easley city council member Denise Davidson. She is accused of sharing confidential information with Donna Rainey, a private citizen who later won a seat on the city council.

The allegations suggest that Davidson forwarded an email to Rainey that contained access information to a city computer holding private citizens’ data. This information was allegedly posted anonymously online.

The request for investigation was signed by several notable figures, including State Representative Neil Collins, State Senator Rex Rice, and three Easley Council members.
