Investigators interview Fraternity Brothers in Hipps’ death

Investigators with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office have interviewed over 50 people about the death of a Clemson student. The body of 19-year-old Tucker Hipps of Piedmont was found Monday afternoon by a Clemson University police officer who was looking for him after he was reported missing. In a release from Clemson University, Tucker was said to be participating in an early-morning run with fraternity members and he did not return, so they began looking for him. Members of the fraternity contacted the Clemson University Police Department to report him missing at 1:45pm Monday. A police officer found his body in the lake near the Highway 93 Bridge about 3:30pm. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said Hipps died due to a head injury consistent with an unsupported fall.
