Jazzy Vaulters jump after Storm

Forty people took part in the inaugural Jazzy Vault in downtown Seneca Thursday night. Heavy rains forced the City of Seneca to cancel Jazz on the Alley; however, after the rain, pole vaulters anxiously ran down Main Street, planted their poles and leapt into the air, explains organizer Adam Doud. “We had a pretty descent crowd for the first year putting it up but I think the weather had something to do with no one wanting to come out. But, it was absolutely gorgeous after 6pm and we were fortunate to keep on going until about 10pm.” The heat dried everything to allow the Jazzy Vault event to take place, adds Doud. “Just with the heat everything dried up real fast. No one really cared about landing in a wet mat, but after a bunch of people landed in it all the water, I guess, eventually squeezed out the bottom.” Doud plans to bring the Jazzy Vault event back to Main Street in downtown Seneca next summer.
