Job Fair today on Pendleton Campus of TCTC

SC Works and Tri-County Technical College’s Corporate and Community Education Division (CCE) are reaching out to unemployed and underemployed individuals by hosting a Job Fair and Training Expo today. The event, for residents of Anderson, Oconee and Pickens counties, runs from 9am to noon at the Industrial and Business Development Center located on the Pendleton Campus. The goal is to connect participants with potential employers. Participants get the opportunity to meet and interview with area employers that have job openings in a wide range of businesses, including manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, retail and services. In addition, Tri-County Technical College is spotlighting the short-term training options in the fields of healthcare, business, heavy-equipment operation, industrial and manufacturing and trucking driving, which are jobs in high demand in our region. Attendees can meet the instructors and program managers, review the course offerings and schedules, and view demonstrations, as well as ask about available funding for instruction in these QuickJobs training programs. The event is a way to connect participants to the CCE short-term technical training certificate programs endorsed by area employers and discuss further opportunities in an associate degree program. Rick Cothran, dean of Tri-County’s CCE Division, encourages job seekers to use this event as the first step to reaching their goals for 2015. “It’s a great opportunity for individuals to begin working on their New Year’s resolutions to find great local employment or to start training for a new career through CCE classes or QuickJobs training programs,” said Cothran. SC Works and Tri-County Technical College sponsor the event.
