Journey of Hope Cyclists coming to Clemson

A team of cyclists participating in Journey of Hope, presented by KRG Capital, will arrive in Clemson today as part of their cycling event across the country to raise funds and awareness for people with disabilities, explains cyclist Matt Varner.  “This is a 4,000-mile cycle ride from California to Washington, D.C. to spread awareness about people with disabilities.  All the cyclists raised a minimum of $5,500 to go towards the organizations and camps we stop at along the way.  At those camps we do friendship visits to learn more about the disability community.” The team will arrive at the Clemson Outdoor Lab at 1pm. Journey of Hope is a program of Push America, the national philanthropy of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, which raises funds and awareness for people with disabilities. The Journey of Hope began in San Francisco on June 9th and it will end in Washington, D.C. on August 10th.  With the combined efforts of sponsors and individual team members, this year’s Journey of Hope will raise more than $500,000 on behalf of people with disabilities.
