Jury Selection Begins Today in Decota Brown Murder Trial

Jury selection in Oconee General Sessions Court begins today in the murder trial of Decota Castle Brown. Brown, accused in the March 2019 shooting death of his grandmother, Seneca resident Geraldine Castle, is charged burglary first degree, murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

A co-defendant in the case, Hunter Lee Hunnicutt, of Seneca, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and first degree burglary in November. His sentence was deferred.

Testimony in the trial could begin as early as this afternoon.
