Juvenile Airlifted After Serious Crash Near Seneca on Saturday

The South Carolina Highway Patrol are leading an investigation into an accident near Seneca that happened on Saturday afternoon around 4:15 pm on Wells Highway near Cross Creek.

Investigators said that a 2015 Camaro, driven by Seneca resident Chad Campbell, took evasive action to avoid a flagger and forklift in the median, but hit a fire hydrant and a guy wire to a utility pole. He was taken by EMS to the hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries.

Then, a second car, a 2012 Camaro, driven by Josey White of Seneca, hit the forklift, according to the State Patrol. White went by private vehicle to a Greenville hospital. A juvenile passenger of White’s was air-lifted for medical treatment.

According to the investigators at the scene, forklift operator Darryl Whobrey of Seneca, was not injured.
