Keowee Elementary Students meet Challenge to Help Others

Keowee Elementary wrapped up its annual Food Drive before Thanksgiving. The food drive, hosted by the Service Learning Club, set a goal to break last year’s record of 1508 food items. Mr. Holliday, principal, and Mrs. Grant, assistant principal, agreed to “trade their stripes for feathers” for the day if the students were able to break last year’s record. At the close of the annual Food Drive, the total amount contributed was 1532 food items and $152. Donations from the drive were given to St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Walhalla for their food pantry. Members of the Service Learning Club and their parents packed the boxes for the food pantry and Mr. Holliday and Mrs. Grant, die-hard Clemson fans, dressed in USC Gamecock attire for the day.
