Lakeview Assisted Living chosen for Operation INASMUCH

Lakeview Assisted Living, a part of SENIOR Solutions, will be receiving a gazebo and a day filled with activities from Operation INASMUCH, a philanthropic mission organized by St. John’s Lutheran Church of Walhalla.  The event will take place on Saturday, May 3 at Lakeview Assisted Living in Walhalla.  St. John’s Lutheran Church Spiritual Gifts Coordinator Joan Lewis reached out to Lakeview Assisted Living to offer mission’s help.  “For INASMUCH 2014, St. John’s Lutheran Church would like to focus our ministry on Lakeview Assisted Living; there is much to be done there both on the grounds, facility improvements and with the residents.  We are presented with abundant opportunities to use the gifts of all our members.  It allows the entire congregation the opportunity to be at one place working towards one mission,” said Lewis.  This will be an all day event, composed of several activities to engage the Lakeview residents and lead up to the completion of a covered shelter area.  Operation INASMUCH is a one-day mission blitz by church members in their community.  “It is an intergenerational event as well as interracial and interdenominational, mobilizing Christians to heal some of the hurts of the community,” according to Lewis.  “St. John’s has purposely chosen the recipients to be members of the community and not members of the church congregation.  We will be performing tasks to promote Matthew 25:40, ‘Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me,” added Lewis.  Lakeview Assisted Living is located at 320 Camp Road in Walhalla.
