Late Night Arrests in Rural Retail Store Parking Lot

Following a late-night inquiry, deputies from the Oconee Sheriff’s Office made two arrests over the weekend in a rural retail store’s parking lot.  Officials said charges were filed against Crystal Dewyna Baker and Kevin Eugene Jackson, following a deputy’s suspicion of a car parked near the Dollar General on Ebenezer Road.

Baker, aged 44, faces charges including resisting arrest, meth distribution, and obstructing officers executing warrants. According to jail records, she is out on bond. Jackson, aged 61, is charged with providing false information and has five active warrants from the magistrate’s court. He remains in custody at this time, according to listings at the Oconee County Detention Center.

The investigation was initiated in response to an alarm triggered approximately 45 minutes after the store’s closure at 10 PM on Saturday night.
