Lawsuit filed in death of Clemson University Student

Tucker Hipps’ parents are seeking $25 million plus punitive damages in civil lawsuits filed against Clemson University, Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and three of its members. Hipps was pledging the fraternity at Clemson University at the time of his death, which is still under investigation by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. Hipps died in September 2014 following a run with members. His body was discovered in rocky, shallow water below a bridge over Lake Hartwell.
