Light shinning Bright at OHC

Thanks to its successful “Let the Light Shine Campaign” brand new energy efficient bulbs have been installed at the Oconee Heritage Center, explains curator and director Leslie White. “We actually just wrapped that up not too long ago, that was real successful campaign, I think a lot of people got behind it because the need to preserve our artifacts.  Lighting is one of those big factors that can threaten artifacts, so we went to all LED lighting.  It’s all throughout our museum in Walhalla as well as at the General Store Museum in Westminster.” The museum hopes the lighting campaign will not only preserve artifacts but lower energy costs, adds White. “We are really glad to have it, hoping to see some savings on the power bill with that as well because they are very energy efficient bulbs.  Thank you to everyone who contributed to that project, it is one thing under our belt now.” White gave special thanks to Brandon Massey with Green Energy Solutions for his help and expertise with the “Let the Light Shine Campaign.”
