Longtime Educator, Fred Hamilton, Will Be Laid to Rest Today

Fred Palmer Hamilton, 95, passed away on March 11, 2024. Born and raised in Seneca, SC, he was a Seneca High School and Clemson College graduate, a U.S. Army veteran, and worked at J.P. Stevens. He served as a minister, a member of several organizations, and had a long career in education, including roles as a teacher, assistant principal, and superintendent.

He spent 56 years in education, serving five consecutive terms as Oconee Superintendent of Education. He was a member of Impact Church and is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents and siblings. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 1:30 this afternoon at Trinity Baptist Church in Seneca. A service follows at 2pm with burial in Oconee Memorial Park. Donations can be made to Impact Church or Life Spring International Missions.
