Mac Arnold honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

A special award was presented Friday night during the fourth annual Greater Clemson Blues Festival. A Lifetime Achievement Award went to a legendary blues man, explains event organizer Vince Jackson. “We honored blues man Mac Arnold with our festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award. He is from this area, he grew up in Greenville. As a young man he moved to Chicago and met a man named Muddy Waters and started playing in his band. Mac has played with every major group you can think of, The Superemes, The Temptations, etc.” Arnold continues to promote music and the blues to students, adds Jackson. “Mac’s foundation, the I Can Do Anything Foundation provides musical instruments for kids in school who can’t afford them.” The fourth annual Greater Clemson Blues Festival runs through April 25.
