Man arrested for Grand Larceny in OC

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Oconee County man Monday evening on grand larceny charges in relation to the theft of a dump trailer. On Oct. 24, a deputy spoke with an individual in regards to the theft of a dump trailer from his address on Granite Drive in Seneca. The case was turned over the Criminal Investigations Division of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office who determined that 33-year-old Mark Eldon Staton had taken the trailer. Investigators obtained warrants against Staton on Nov. 14. The value of the trailer is around $3,000 according to investigators. Staton is still being held at the Oconee County Detention Center on a $25,000 surety bond.
