Man Dies After Lift Bucket Accident Tuesday Afternoon

The Anderson County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina’s Division of OSHA are leading an investigation into the Tuesday afternoon death of 64 year-old Jacob C. Williams, who was working for a local tree service when he died.

The Coroner’s Office said that emergency personnel were called around 4:00 pm Tuesday to a home on West Franklin Street, where Williams had been ejected from a lift bucket after a section of tree he was cutting hit the bucket. Williams fell about 30 feet, investigators said. He was treated at the scene for injuries he sustained in the fall, but was taken to AnMed Health when he went into cardiac arrest.

The Coroner ruled his cause of death as blunt force trauma to the chest.
