Man Jailed in Pickens County on Charge of Intent to Distribute Fentanyl

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office reported that a man instigated a car chase, after which he was discovered in possession of a significant amount of fentanyl, leading to charges of “intent to distribute.” Officials noted that this was not the first instance of the suspect being found with fentanyl. On Feb. 6, deputies attempted a traffic stop on Finley Road in Easley. The driver, however, initiated a short pursuit. Upon the vehicle’s halt, deputies discovered fentanyl and marijuana inside. The suspect, Cody Alexander Coleman, was subsequently arrested and faced multiple charges. These included reckless driving, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl (his third offense), possession of burglary tools, possession of marijuana (his second offense), failure to stop for blue lights (his second offense), and driving under suspension. Currently, Coleman is being held at the detention center in Pickens County, with his bond set at over $65,000.
