Man sentenced to 21 Years for Multiple Burglaries

Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins states that 45-year-old Charles Frances Essing, III, pled guilty on Dec. 15, 2016, on two counts each of burglary of a building in the second degree and burglary of a dwelling in the second degree. The Honorable C. Victor Pyle, Jr., sentenced Essing to consecutive sentences totaling 21 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections, followed by a term of supervised probation. Evidence presented at the hearing by Assistant Solicitor Allen Fretwell established that between Feb. 11-28, 2014, Essing unlawfully entered the four difference residences in Greenville County. Essing stole guns from two of the residences, thereby enhancing the potential sentence he faced on these burglaries. Assistant Solicitor Fretwell also told the court that Essing confessed to committing these burglaries when confronted by police.
