Man sentenced to Life for killing Woman in Anderson

A man has been sentenced to life in prison for stabbing his girlfriend to death while visiting his mother in South Carolina in 2010.  On Tuesday, an Anderson County jury found 34-year-old Mauricio Weber of Seattle, Washington, guilty of murder. Prosecutors said Weber stabbed 20-year-old Patrice Jones 14 times because she disrespected him. An autopsy found that the blows were so hard that a bone was broken in her spine.  Weber, serving as his own defense, called no witnesses. His trial was delayed for years because he fired at least four of his attorneys.  After the guilty verdict was read, Weber told the judge that he still maintains his innocence in the killing.
