Man sentenced to Prison for Child Abuse

A homicide by child abuse case brings a 20-year prison term for an Oconee County man. A plea Wednesday in General Session Court by 27-year-old McKenzie Lee Turner stems from the 2012 death of his seven-month-old niece Amy Genesis Stashluk.  Turner appeared in court on the charge of homicide by child abuse to answer allegations that he caused her death.  She died in 2012 at a Greenville hospital, after emergency workers went to Turner’s home and found a child not breathing. Arrest warrants charged that Turner dropped and shook his niece, resulting in her injuries.
