Many Millennials still without Health Insurance

A new report suggests that roughly one-in-four “Millennials”, those between 18 and 29, is without health insurance. That is more than any other age group. Report author Laura Adams says that they will have to pay a penalty. “When the tax bill comes around in April of 2015, they will find out that they’ve got to pay a penalty and maybe that means getting less of a tax refund than they expected.” It is now very risky to go without health insurance, adds Adams. “Going to the hospital or taking an emergency ride can leave many people with a huge bill that they can’t pay, so it is not that because you are healthy you don’t need health insurance, we never know what may be around the corner.” Insurancequote.com conducted the report on Americans enrolling in health insurance plans since the Affordable Care Act took effect last year.
