Mayor pleased with Seneca Fest 2015

Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander thanks all the city staff who helped make Seneca Fest 2015 a success this Memorial Day weekend. The two-day downtown event actually kicked off on Thursday with Jazz on the Alley and then culminated Saturday night with another band, Jefferson Starship. In between the city hosted a Classic Car Cruzin, BBQ Cook-off, a ferris wheel, swing, vendors and more, explains Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander. “Starting with Jazz on the Alley Thursday night we had a big crowd and started the weekend off on a good note. Friday night was the Car Show with the largest amount of cars that we have ever had at any show downtown. On Saturday, many people were buying BBQ to support the Education Foundation of Oconee County’s Back Pack Program to help kids in the community. The Downtown Merchants Association had several things going on; they did a great job there. The weather could not have been better all weekend and we were real pleased with the turnout.” To see pictures of Seneca Fest 2015, visit the city’s website at www.seneca.sc.us.
