Medlen leads Braves to win over Phillies

Atlanta Braves pitcher Kris Medlen provided seven-plus strong innings to lead the Braves to a 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies Tuesday night at Turner Field. Medlen was in total command, scattering five hits and working into the eighth inning for just the second time this season.  Medlen also hit a two-out RBI double that plated the Braves’ first run.  Chris Johnson added to the Braves lead with a two-run homer over the left-field wall.  In winning 16 of their past 18 games, the Braves have gained a comfortable lead atop the National League East.  The Atlanta Braves are now 73-47 on the season.  Catch all the exciting action of Atlanta Braves baseball here on WSNW.
