More People delaying Retirement

The number of workers delaying retirement for financial reasons is at a post-recession low. That is according to a new survey from CareerBuilder.com, explains Jennifer Grasz. “We found our study with a number of senior workers saying that they are delaying retirement has reached a new post-recession low.” Grasz gives the latest figures. “Back in 2010, two-thirds of workers ages 60 or older, 66% said that they were delaying retirement, today that number is at 53%.” Many seniors have decided to change jobs and work at something new, concludes Grasz. “54% of senior workers said that they will work after retiring from their current career. Some of that is motivated by the need for added income or benefits, others say they just enjoying working and want to take this opportunity to pursue new experiences.” To read the complete survey on Americans delaying retirement, visit www.CareerBuilder.com.
