More SC Drivers buckling up

More South Carolina drivers are buckling up.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the Palmetto State improved its seat belt usage percentage in 2012 by 4 points. The rate for South Carolina is now 90% seat belt usage. The South Carolina Department of Public Safety credits the rise in seat belt usage to increased enforcement and education in recent years. Troopers encourage parents to talk to teens when they are young and make wearing a seat belt a habit for all passengers.  Tougher enforcement has helped too, say troopers, as officers have become stricter, giving tickets for failing to wear a seat belt, not just a warning.
