Multiple Shootings Under Investigation By Toccoa Police and GBI

Shootings at two different convenience stores in Stephens County, GA are under investigation, according to police.

They said three people in total sustained wounds in those incidents, the first of which was reported just after noon Sunday at Buddy’s Kwik Stop on Big A Road, the second on US 123 near the state line at Tony’s General Store.

One male victim from the first incident was flown to Gainesville to be treated for a gunshot wound to the leg, while two more from the second shooting were taken to area hospitals for treatment. Toccoa Police said they arrested Antuan Prather, 31, of Toccoa after they performed a felony traffic stop on him at another nearby convenience store. At the time of his arrest, police said Prather was driving a rental car.

The GBI was requested to assist Toccoa Police with the investigation, and they added that as the case is still open, charges are pending.
