Name released in Fatal OC Accident

The victim’s name in yesterday’s fatal accident on South Carolina 130 has been released. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis reports that 62-year-old Nick Lester Seagle of Charlotte, NC, died at the scene. He was a contract worker at the Oconee Nuclear Station. The deadly traffic accident yesterday closed portions of South Carolina 130 near Seneca for several hours. The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the collision occurred shortly before 6:30am. A second vehicle, a Ford Explorer, crossed the centerline of the two-lane highway and struck Seagle’s pickup truck head-on. According to the Highway Patrol, 25-year-old Dustin Strickland of Seneca was the driver of the Ford Explorer. He was airlifted for treatment to Greenville Memorial Hospital. The accident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
