New Administrative Hires in Oconee County School District

On Monday, the School District of Oconee County Board of Trustees approved new administrative hires for the 2024-2025 school year. Erin Garland, a former student and current assistant principal at James M Brown Elementary, will become the ATSI Director. She will work with schools identified by the South Carolina Department of Education as needing additional support within the special education population.

Lauren Provost will transition from a general education classroom to assistant principal at Walhalla Elementary and Tamassee-Salem Elementary Schools. She has 4 years of teaching experience and certifications for gifted and multi-language students.

Kathy Ward, who has served at Daniel High since 2009 in various roles, has been named assistant principal at Walhalla High School. She was an English teacher before moving into leadership roles.

In other news, Anne-Hamilton LeRoy, a former Seneca High School star and the school’s all-time leading scorer, has been appointed as the new varsity girls’ basketball coach at Seneca. LeRoy, who is about to complete her master’s degree at Longwood University, is thrilled to be returning to her alma mater.
