New Customers’ Impact on JRSA Weighed

Starting from January 1, the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority (JRSA) will implement a new policy regarding impact fees. Jamie Gilbert, an industry recruiter for the Oconee Economic Alliance, expressed concern about this increase during a recent meeting. He warned that it might negatively affect a potential large-scale economic development project, currently codenamed Project “Wash”, being considered for the vacant Golden Corner Commerce Park. Scott Moulder of Seneca has requested additional time for the JRSA’s finance and administration committee to further evaluate the impact fee numbers as assessed by an external JRSA consulting firm.
