New Greenway Project Is Point of Contention for Some in Walhalla

The building occupied by Benson Feed and Seed is owned by the family, however, the property on which it sits is owned by the city. Benson fears that the long-discussed project could cut off part of her premises.

Walhalla has been setting aside a portion of water taxes to help fund the trail. City Council member Keith Pace supports the project, and said the taxes are part of the city’s revenue, which helps fund projects like the greenway, but that increase will help pay for other things, too.
