New Hours at Oconee Heritage Center

In an effort to serve residents and visitors better, the Oconee Heritage Center is expanding public visiting hours of the museum beginning Friday, Jan. 2, 2015. The downtown Walhalla museum celebrating the county’s history and heritage will now be open Tuesday through Saturday from 11am until 5pm. The Oconee Heritage Center will be closed Sunday and Monday. Hours of operation at the General Store Museum in Westminster will remain unchanged, Friday through Saturday from 10am to 1pm. Oconee Heritage Center curator and director Leslie White said, “Special appointments are still encouraged for group tours, field trips, and others wishing to visit outside of our normal hours of operation. Call us at 864-638-2224 to make arrangements. We have lots of great new programs and a special exhibit planned for 2015, so make plans to visit often!”
