New Owners Want to Give Seneca’s Old Bell Building a Facelift

Zoning Administrator for the City of Seneca Tracy Chapman said that an item on last night Board of Architectural Review agenda was tabled until the next meeting.

The owner of the property at 105 North Fairplay Street, East North Academy Investors, and the applicant, Nathan Guinn Real Estate Law, are seeking a certificate of appropriateness to wash and paint the exterior, replace the awning and add new signage.

Chapman said the item was postponed until all board members could be present, and to see if the applicant comes up with another proposal…

The commercial property, formerly the Bell Building, was built in 1953 in Seneca’s Historic District and has a façade of yellow brick and concrete block. The applicant seeks to paint the exterior black and place low maintenance, drought tolerant plants alongside the building.
